DIIs Continue Strong Buying Streak, FIIs Turn Net Sellers on January 20, 2025

On January 20, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) showcased strong buying momentum in the financial markets. They recorded a total buy value of ₹15,339.21 crore, significantly exceeding their sell value of ₹11,017.25 crore. This resulted in a net buying figure of ₹4,321.96 crore, highlighting a positive sentiment and confidence in the domestic markets. The robust net inflows by DIIs likely reflect strategic investments in equities, driven by favorable market conditions or long-term growth prospects.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) or Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), however, displayed a contrasting approach on the same day. Their buy value stood at ₹9,473.16 crore, which was notably lower than their sell value of ₹13,809.70 crore. The divergence in investment behavior between DIIs and FIIs underscores the varying perspectives on market trends, possibly influenced by global economic uncertainties or differing risk assessments.
