DIIs Continue Strong Buying Streak, FIIs Turn Net Sellers on January 10, 2025

On January 10, 2025, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) displayed robust buying activity in the Indian equity market, with a total buy value of ₹17,836.50 crore. After offsetting sell transactions worth ₹9,935.44 crore, DIIs recorded a net buy value of ₹7,901.06 crore. This strong inflow highlights continued confidence in the Indian market from domestic investors, providing much-needed support amidst global economic uncertainties.

In contrast, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers for the day, with a significant sell value of ₹21,926.40 crore compared to a buy value of ₹13,794.14 crore. This led to a net outflow of ₹8,132.26 crore from FIIs, reflecting cautious sentiment influenced by global market volatility and potential interest rate concerns. DIIs Lead the Charge in January 2025 with ₹40,183 Crore Net Inflow

Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) demonstrated unwavering confidence in the Indian equity markets in January 2025, with a substantial net buying value of ₹40,183 crore. DIIs recorded a total buy value of ₹148,958.49 crore against sell transactions worth ₹108,775.49 crore, signaling strong domestic participation amidst global market volatility. This robust inflow reflects positive sentiment from domestic investors, potentially driven by attractive valuations and India’s steady economic growth.

Conversely, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained cautious, turning net sellers with a significant outflow of ₹34,382.56 crore in January 2025. FIIs logged a total buy value of ₹100,347.41 crore while selling assets worth ₹134,729.97 crore. The persistent selling pressure from FIIs can be attributed to global macroeconomic concerns, including interest rate hikes and risk aversion in emerging markets.
